A Question for Gary Goodyear

I have sent the following question to Gary Goodyear, Minister of State (Science and Technology), via email:

Hello,

Does the Honourable Minister of State (Science and Technology) accept the overwhelming scientific evidence that all life on Earth has evolved from a common ancestor?

This should be fairly simple for him to answer; it’s a ‘yes’ or ‘no’.

If you wish to ask a similar question, you may do so at GoodyG@parl.gc.ca. I figure that some Canadians may wish to know whether the Minister for science is anti-science or not.

Did you get a reply? May I use your wording to send an email to Goodyear and to my own federal MP (Conservative)?

  2. Vronvron says:

    Thank you.

So I just started commenting, but it’s interesting that you could send the same letter to the Vatican and they would answer you positively.

specifically, “Since it has been demonstrated that all living organisms on earth are genetically related, it is virtually certain that all living organisms have descended from this first organism.”

It is true; the official position of the Vatican is that evolution is true. Not that we should give them an award for that, but at least it’s better than some of the other guys.

I have not received a reply from Gary Goodyear nor have I received a reply from my Conservative MP, Dean Del Mastro. I sent sent an email to Del Mastro today concerning George Galloway. I feel as if I am tilting at windmills, but writing makes me feel better.

“The fact that George Bush was allowed into Canada earlier this month is odious, but it is a fitting tribute to Canadians right to hear a speech from anyone they chose. George Galloway is an intelligent man and an eloquent speaker. We can all learn from his public speaking skills. The federal Conservatives continue to disappoint me: Gary Goodyear because he equates acknowledging the validity of the theory of evolution with betraying his faith and Jason Kenney because he thinks he is fighting a personal war on terror by not overruling the Canadian border security officials’ decision to ban Galloway from entering Canada. Jason Kenny can also be criticized for allowing his spokesman to call Galloway an “infandous street-corner Cromwell,” Ad hominem always undermines a speaker’s arguments. Please speak out against Jason Kenny’s support of Canadian border security officials’ decision to prevent Galloway from entering Canada. Canadians have the right to hear what Galloway has to say and to make their own decisions about Gallowy’s message.”
